View from my camp site at 6 o'clock in the morning. Hardangerjøkulen glacier is seen behind.

One of the rivers to cross after having walked a couple km south.
The river systems are melting water from the Hardangerjøkulen glacier - seen behind, and the bridges over them constantly have to be renewed after the winter.
I found a few days via the weather forecast when it was not raining in July, and threw myself onto a train to Finse station.
Having decided only be a few days outdoors, I chose to stay a couple nights at the same camp site. The mornings were absolute cloud free and wind still, an the lake beneath lay as a a perfectly polished mirror - as the top picture shows. Only a couple arctic loons occasionally made some ripples on the surface.

Morning coffee with Hardangerjøkulen glacier in sight.
